What data we collect
Waitlist signups
If you join the waitlist we store your email address, whether you are a buyer or a manufacturer, and the industry you suggest. We use this only to contact you about byeurope.eu’s launch and to prioritise which industries open first. Legal basis: consent (GDPR art. 6(1)(a)). You can withdraw at any time by emailing us; we then delete your entry.
Analytics
We use Matomo, self-hosted on our own server, in cookieless mode. No analytics cookies are set, no data is shared with third parties, and IP addresses are anonymised. Legal basis: legitimate interest in understanding aggregate site usage (GDPR art. 6(1)(f)).
Server logs
Our hosting provider (Nordicway, Denmark/EU) keeps standard web-server logs (IP address, user agent, requested URL) for security and operations. These are deleted on the host’s normal rotation schedule.
Where data is processed
All data is stored and processed on servers within the EU.
Company profiles and newsletters
If you claim a company profile, we store your name, work email address, and the time of your claim, and we verify your email address before a claim is manually approved. This data is used to administer your profile. Legal basis: contract (GDPR art. 6(1)(b)).
If you additionally tick the newsletter box when claiming, we may send occasional news about the byeurope.eu platform to your work email. Consent is optional, logged with a timestamp, and can be withdrawn at any time via the unsubscribe link or by emailing us — withdrawal does not affect your profile. Legal basis: consent (GDPR art. 6(1)(a)).
Your rights
You have the right to access, rectify, delete, and port your data, to restrict or object to processing, and to lodge a complaint with the Danish Data Protection Agency (Datatilsynet). Contact us at the address above to exercise any right.
